i need a little help estimating how much mnt a brand new 04/05 3 series requires. I haven't purchased one yet, but i am leaning towards the 325ci or 330ci and just wanna know from other 3 series owners how much time and mnt you've put in already. 4 yrs mnt from the dealer is standard, but i think i'm gonna own this car longer than that time period and wanna see if an extended warranty is recommended. Thanks for any feedback.

I've owned my 3 series since July 1999. I currently have 159,000 + miles on my bimmer, therefore I suppose I am some what of a limited SME on at least my 3 series. I've have no real problems with maintenance even after the warranty expired. All of the problems I've experienced have been minor thus far... I have replaced the control arm bushings, clutch, transmission, rear passenger window regulator and all three pulleys because one of the pulley's bearings were shot. I consider these minor over the life and pleasure the car is still returning. Of course I continue my scheduled maintenance every 30,000 miles. [driving2]
