10w-30 Mobil 1 ok?

I put a quart of 10w-30 Mobil 1 in my engine. Will this damge it or void the warranty?

I dont think putting a certain type of any oil can void your warranty... I'd use castrol, since i believe thats what bmw uses from the factory. Mobile 1 should be absolutely fine though.

You're fine. And your BMW dealer is not going to take the time to analyze your oil to determine what brands of synthetic you put in. It wouldn't void your warranty anyways and many people think Mobile 1 might be better than the Castrol since it's unclear whether the Castrol is "true" synthetic and Mobile 1 is used in Mercedes, Porsche, Ferrari, etc.

Keep using the Mobil 1. You will not void anything. Castrol just has some agreement with BMW all revolving around $$. Mobil 1 is superior anyway. Just use the proper weight and you'll be fine.
