Yeah, you can call me stupid, but I wanted to post this for some reason. On my way home from work tonight I got onto the freeway and it was pretty much empty so I floored the car. In no time it was at 120 mph. I was surprised how smooth it was considering the speed I was at.

Sure it was a little noisy and all, but no different from how a Civic or any compact Japanese car would be at normal highway speed. Heh, I guess you can tell I've never really driven above 80-ish before.

Must be the convo because I took mine to an indicated 128 (the E46 indicated 133) and it felt solid as a rock. We were on a deserted highway going to a bimmercruise. Stuff goes by fast at 130....

Bmw's do indeed have some of the best brakes in the WORLD. Dont argue with it, as it is a fact. Note i'm not saying they ARE the best.

I agree about the brakes - I am impressed with how quickly the brakes stop my little old 325e. I was astounded at how awesome the brakes were in the 2000 323i Sport Package I drove this last summer for my job. But, anything would seem awesome to me coming from the non-power assisted 4 wheel drum brakes on my Camaro! [eek] [:D] Overpowered and underbraked, baby![burnout]

I like my Wilwood Superlite 6 caliper front and rear with Vented, cross drilled and slotted 10" rotors front, and 8" rotors rear with out the vented with a bias control set for 60% - 40%

Well said, I should have rephrased the 'best' part. But coming from a '94 Mazda Protege, my E30 and superior brakes over that car. Heh. [thumb]

The brakes are my biggest beef with this car, and mine is an Eta...

I do look foward to the BBK after the swap. I plan on going andrewball's route and replacing everything. Just imagine E36 brakes on a tiny little E30. Oh well, at least my vented rotors and Greenstuffs dont fade.

My brakes are pretty good, for now that is. I'm serious about my game plan to buy a 5 series, keep the 5 bone stock, then upgrade my 3 like crazy. I'm thinking some new drilled rotors front and back would be nice![:D]

Stopping safely, I can concur that it's not the safest, but when you need to stop, those brakes stop you better than any Japanese car out there...

...even my mom's 99' Mazda 626 has worse braking than my car.
