Hi Guys
My first post but regular visitor to the site. Just recently bought my E46 2003 330Ci Auto Convertible (Euro Spec) and having now saved up a bit I'm wanting to make some upgrades to the car!
I've been offered a genuine set of 19" M3 Alloys but hear that there are problems getting these onto the stock e46's due to the width and offset of the rear wheels. I currently have 18" MV wheels but they are not in the best of conditions, the previous driver was obviously far too friendly with the kerb Since my current rear wheels are 255/35 r18 I assume the M3's 265/35 r19s are not going to be a problem but the offset is going to cause some headache! I'm right in saying that the MV has an offset of 40 and the M3's have an offset of 27 right?!?
Now, I've been given a few options for getting these onto the car (too good a bargain to miss!). What you guys reckon? All thoughts welcome, even if it's just to tell me I'm mad!!!
I can roll the arches, fit undersize tyres and stretch them onto the wheel (so the edge of the tyre is like a V as opposed to being flat), get the hubs or the alloys machined so the offset is correct!).
thanks guys
