Hello - I got my hands on a nice 91 325ic with only 57K miles in May. Since then, I've been doing preventive work like belts (timing included), water/fuel filter, plugs, Oil change. I now want to get more out of the car. The engine sounds young and healthy so I want get some kicks with it. Can I get advise on engine/suspension Mods for this car.

- Also, want to change the brakes/Rotor combo. Any advise?

Holy shit where did you find one with only 57k miles! I bet it's in great shape.

It's good you're doing routine matainence, but you should also do valve adjustments (should technically be done every other oil change). Engine might sound louder (valve tapping) but you will feel an increase in power - if it's out of spec enough anyways.

Engine mods? Get a mark d chip (do a search for dsylvia tech - it's the ABSOLUTE best chip you can buy for SOHC bmw's. The others are fine, except dinan wont perform as well.)

Other than that? Forced induction. The stock engines are good for about 400 wheel horsepower as a daily driver, and can be done for around $1.5k.

The car is real good shape. It's got 62K now. How do I place a picture to show? Also forget to mention, I put in a K&N air filter. I am planning on doing a valve job soon. There is tapping.

But what about suspension/Engine? Where do you buy from?

there's a tone of tuners out there and as far a suspesion...

http://www.bmw2002.com/

- Bilstein or Koni shocks
- Eibach (softer) or H&R (stiffer) springs
- off centered trailing arm bushings to dial out camber when using lowering springs, or oem ones with 7 series off centers studs.
- off center control arm bushings, oem M3 or eurathane ones.
- Ground control, Ireland Engineerinr or KMac camber caster/plates
- new subframe bushings.
- e46 or aftermarket rear shock mounts.
- Cabrios have huge front sway bars (21mm F & 12mm R), you can complement it with a 14.5mm rear M3 unit or a set of oversize IE 25/22mm units.
- motor mounts,
- trani mounts,
- differential cover bushing
- a good muffler, Super Sprint, etc. oem one perform very well.
and on and on and on ...

rims, 17's will weight a ton, my came in at 42lbs, that's 14lbs above 14" oem setup., look around for a nice and light set of 16's. hopefuly at or under oem weight.

my 87 325iC setup, overkill but fun.
