I own a 1999 328ic - e36.
I guess last year for the e36 was 1998, but the convertible was held over to 1999. When I am looking at many websites for after market equipment they do not list my car as they only recognize the e36 as going to 1998. I see a 1999 328ci but I believe that is an e46?

My question is when getting parts from these websites should I be looking at parts from a 1998ic?
Was there any differences from a 1998 328ic and a 1999 328ic?

you can go to realoem.com, enter the last 7 digits of your VIN, and it will tell you all about your car including the engine and chassis.

yes. You can also go to that site and just enter the chassis, the model, and the manufacturing date and get the engine. I used 7/97 and 2/98, and bothe used the M52. I think you're safe.

The 91 318is was in the same boat, last year for the e30 318is, but it had the newer e36 M42 motor. I had a hard time finding listings for it and a lot of the componets (engine wise) would not fit, ie: exhaust system parts.
