At 30K miles my 2001 330cic clutch feels like it's offering slight resistance about 2/3 of the way to the floor... a slight catch or bump. Only going into 1st and even then only about half the time. Dealer wants 400-500 to diagnose if it turns out to be a wear/abuse prob. I don't ride it and have never replaced/repaired clutches of other cars in several 100K of driving. Problem doesn't really affect car performance, but bothers me. Can anyone help with this?

Are you past the "full maintenance" program already? If no, then the dealer must replace it for free, even if wear is the cause.

My clutch always had this sort of a bump, almost feels like it's a two-step process. No problems whatsoever, just the way it is according to the mechanic. I bleed the clutch once a year or so, so it is not the air in the system. Nor is it the master/slave cylinder.

If the clutch is not slipping, you should be fine.

Thanks... I'm going to assume it's fairly normal. I am under warranty, but the dealer said they're under no obligation to fix for free unless they find a "defective part." I'll probably just live with the bump. Thanks again.
