Thought I would update those who were following my situation. 6 days in the shop before a BMW expert was flown in (also to look at two 7 series). He had them replace Oxygen Sensor and the tank venting valve. They still do not know if it is fixed. They spent 3 more days with it. I am now driving it and waiting for the tank to run low to give it a try by puting a full tank of gas in and seeing if it stalls or misfires again. Hope not, but they have given me zero confidence so far. [confused] . I will let you know if that was the ticket.

I had a misfire problem with my new '03 330xi also. Had it in the shop for just a day and they were convinced it was a freak occurance of bad gas. Been driving it for a month now with no problems at all. Now only using 91 or 93 octane from big name gas stations. FYI, the service guy gave me a tip which made sense. Don't ever buy gas at a station within 24 hours of seeing the tanker truck refilling their tanks. Anyone who's ever added water to a fish tank and watched it stir up all the gunk from the bottom would understand why.
