I just took delivery of my 2004, black 330Ci with M Sport II package, 6 speed manual transmission, adaptive headlights, 18 inch wheels, sun roof, Nappa leather interior. Woo hoo - it was worth the 3 month wait!
It's amazing how different it feels to my previous car, which was basically the same model without the sport package, 17 inch wheels, year Nov 2000.
Despite the bigger, lower profile tires, the new car rides much better (feels better damped), has almost no body roll and feels like it's glued to the road. The steering is also a lot more meaty and direct. Fantastic!
I'm also noticing the engine a lot more than before. That is to say, up to about 2500 rpm in first and second, you can hear this sporty, snarly sound, where by previous car was almost silent. Does any one know if this is intentional? Have the new sport models been tuned to sound more sporty?
Also, I'm rather disappointed with the new widescreen TV monitor. The picture quality compared to my old (4:3) monitor is inferior. I can see these black horizontal lines down the screen – almost as if only every other scan line is being displayed. Also, when in widescreen display mode (16:9) the picture is distorted (it's stretching a 4:3 pic into a 16:9 format!) even when the program is transmitted in widescreen format. Does anyone else have a similar problem or have heard about it? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.
