I am interested in a 2004 330i PP. My dealers say that they cannot be ordered (no 4 door 2004 sedans yet, only coupe and convertible). But I see some people posting about having ordered 2004 PP sedans.

Are my dealers right or not properly informed (how could that be???!!!)

I remember seeing a post somewhere (maybe on another BMW board) that BMW has put restrictions on the options that can be orderd for the "September build" of cars coming out of the factory. This could also be one of the restrictions. Either that or your dealer is lying because he has alot of coupes he needs to get off his lot. Try another dealer.

The dealer I bought mine from was extremely well informed. I did shop another dealer here in the valley and he had no idea what came standard with the car, what the available options were, or even if he could order one. He too mentioned restriction on dealer allocations. So it could be that the particular dealer you shopped didn't have any allocations. From what I understand, BMW is being picky about who they're giving these cars too.

I agree, shop another dealer till you find one that knows what they're talking about. After witnessing the order process, the process for the PP is quite convoluted compared to other models. You definitely want someone who knows what they're doing.

I don’t think the problem is with the PP package, but with any 330i RWD.

I ran into the same problem last night when I placed an order for a 2004 330i 6 speed w/ sport package. Right now I'm on a waiting list for one. The dealer I'm working with 'hopes' they can get an allocation for a November delivery date for me. I checked with another dealer in my area and ran into the same problem.

My dealer didn't use the term 'restrictions' but did mention severe shortages on 330i availability. Apparently BMW isn’t producing a lot of RWD 330i right now. I took a look at the dealer’s allocation sheet and the only 3 series they had on the lot or allocated were AWD’s.

Regards,

I dunno - I think it's got to be a regional issue. I just ordered mine with no problem and was assured delivery by the end of October.

Good luck!
