2004 LED Tail light conversion.

I have a 2002 330Ci and am looking to upgrade to 2004 LED tail lights. The best price I found was $430 shipped for OEM. This kit comes with the adapters needed.

Is this an easy conversion ?
Ive heard the install is easy but then i would need to go to the dealer to have them reset the computer.

Ive also heard that upon installing the lights, they wont even work until the dealer resets the computer.

Any suggestions ?

Part of the computer reset may have to do with the adaptive feature of the lights. During a panic stop, the outer ring of LEDs lights in addition to the normal inner LED array. Also the computer may control the voltage supply to the lights which may be different than incandescent lamps. Just guessing here.

They dont have it on their website so youll have to call.

No one has been able to get the adaptive braking to work. Don't bother trying IMO. However, you can get the LEDs to work. Before a certain build date (early 2002 I think), you need to buy an extra computer part that's a bit expensive. I'll try and dig up a good DIY link.
