323ci- set me straight

two questions on the 01 323ci... 1) Do they all come with the small sport steering wheel? 2) Whats up with the keys? Ive looked at some that have the early 90's high security cut key with the transponder as the key head, and then others of the same year that have laser cut keys with a more attractive (the 3 button with the bmw roundel in the middle(colorful)) transponder head as the key head. When did they change from the high security cut to the laser cut?

I think by 01 they had changed over to the new keys...all the steering wheels should be smaller after '99.

I've run into '00 2 door and 4 doors that have laser cut, but also have seen 2 door and 4 door '00 models that only have the double sided high security cut (the same thing the E36 had). I think they switched over midyear or something
