Just bought a 1999 323i and car stalls once in awhile. There's no rhyme or reason for it. I mean it doesn't do it consistently. Like I would be driving and easing into a stop and then the car dies. The engine doesn't shake or nothing it basically dies. So I would brake gently, put the car in park, and then turn off the ignition and then turn it back on. Then the car would start back up. This happens usually in like a series and then clear driving for a day or so and then this whole stalling incident comes back. When this stall occurs the indicator on dashboard for the battery becomes lighted including the button next to it. The car has only 44,000 miles. I've taken it into an auto mechanic and they think it's the fuel pump possibly relay. Have anyone else experienced this problem?

Hi, I have a 2001 320i, which i recently acquired in september. It sounds like a very similar problem to what I have. However, it has only happened to me twice on 2 different days, "easing into a stop and then the car dies" As you mention the car starts up instantly without any issues. But it's quite painful as you need to come to a complete standstill, place the car in Park and then restart. I have not taken it to any mechanics as yet.....have you fixed your problem?
