Hi, Ok I am very new to Beemers, and wheels, so please be patient. I just got rid of my 2001 Mustang convertible ( it was junk) and leased a 2004 325ci with the premium package. It's two days old, and i LOVE it!, I am not fond of the stock rims though. I want to buy the M3 rims (18inches) off of ebay and just slap them on my car.. can i do that? Do I need to go to someone to have them installed? Basically my budget is around 1200 for the whole story (including tires) - HELP Please!

Welcome to the forum, congrats on thecar! Yeah man, you can do it. You'll save if you buy a wheel & tire set together, but just so you know, the rims are probably REPLICA wheels and not original BMW OEM wheels. This is not to say the quality is bad or anything like that, just one of those things you need to know before you buy the wheels!
If you're buying a wheel & tire package, the tires probably already come mounted and balanced. You can take it to any place to have them put on the new wheels, but you can also do it yourself with a jack, one wheel at a time.

If they're real M3 rims, I believe you have to roll your fenders to get them to fit. They should be staggered sizes and either the fronts or the rears won't fit a stock 325ci without some modification I believe.

[poke] Just and FYI to a new BMW owner/lover.

beemer = BMW motorcycle

bimmer = BMW car/suv

P.S. Welcome to hotbimmer. Great place to learn and share..... [thumb]

Exactly. If they are real ones (not replicas) The set should come staggered, and you will need a slight fender roll in the back to fit the rears. If you're lucky to get a set of 4 front M3 wheels, it works fine, and they are literally a slap on (w/ alignment of course).

Even after a suspension change I only needed minor camber adjustment in the front to avoid light rubbing. If you slap in the staggered rears, you will need a bit more of a camber change in the rear I suspect, but anyone doing a good alignment will handle this for you.

Did you ultimately purchase those M3 rims? I was planning on doing the same thing. Thanks
