I have an 04 325cic with prem. and sport packages and my ride really diminishes at higher speeds with a little vibration and a really bumpy ride. I've had this car for a few months after I traded in my 03 325i sedan. The 325i came stock with 16s which I replaced with chrome 17's and low profile Cont touring tires. The ride was remarkable, especially at higher speeds. I got the rims and tires from thewheelexchange and I heard that it has something to do with a higher profile wheel and mount. I do not want to change these rims but I want that same ride I had with the sedan when I was going at higher speeds. So does anyone know anything of a higher profile wheel and mount and where can I go to get this done?

It's probably cuz you have the lower/stiffer sport suspension on your car while the 325i didn't. You might have to go back to 16" tires to get that ride back.

Give your car a chance though. It's not that bad. But I know what you mean. I've ridden in lots of 325i's without the sport package and it's a much creamier ride. But they're not as much fun on onramps and other curves.

Give it a chance tih2k... the car will train you ;-) I'm coming out of a VW Passat V6 to this BMW 330Cic with sports package. At first it did seem a little firm -- especially when I wanted to lean my head back on the headrests at speed... I've come to peace with the bumps though, and take small solice in the knowledge that the "performance" package has an even stiffer feel than my "sports" package. I feel like I'm right in the sweet spot -- not too soft, not too firm. You'll get used to it. Please don't wreck the look of your convertible with smaller wheels and fat tires.

I agree with everyone above... I didn't exactly come from luxury with my grand am.. but it had a surprisingly smooth ride and the difference was night and day going to my 325ci. I've had it for a week and I'm not fully acclimated to the bumpy ride, but it's nothing I can't handle...

The last two posts are totally right. I was shocked after driving my cic on the crappy, Los Angeles Freeways. I felt like I was bumping and bouncing around...especially after just having traded my E320 Benz. After a few weeks, and several onramps....I love the sport package suspension and wheels. As said earlier, don't ruin the look with little rims. Enjoy the ride. Our cic's are so much fun!!!

I agree with the last guys to give it a chance and it will grow on you . But , you might want to check into getting your tires rebalanced and check your tire pressure( cold ) . A few pounds can make a big diff. in ride comfort . At high speeds is when my 325ci with sport really feels nice. I think at 80 is when it starts to feel glued to the road. I have 17's with continentals and love it .
