oh oh, i've got oil in my coolant (but no water in my oil). i figure it's a head gasket or maybe a warped head.
i'm hoping it's not a cracked block. i need to do the job myself. (no $$$). replacing the gasket isn't beyond my technical expertise. but, thats just about it.

i tried "mechanic in a can" and it didn't work. couldn't seal the leak.

do i need any specialized tools? i'll video the removal of all wires, etc. so that i can put everything back the way it came off.

any other thoughts about the symptoms?

There's no special tools needed. I got by with a decent set of metric sockets and wrenches. You will need an allen wrench on a socket wrench base that can be used with a torque wrench to tighten the head bolts. Everything else is pretty standard. I did it folowing the procedure in the Bentley manual and nothing else (didn't have the internet back then).
