325i / 325iS

just wondering do the 325i and iS come with the same engine, diff(?), gearbox(?) etc.

i assume that the only differance is in the interior, exterior, suspension, and that stuff..

Look there.

As far as I know, the only mechanical differences are the iS has a limited slip diff, and a stiffer, sportier suspension. Also I think the iS has less sound proofing for weight purposes. Inside the iS has Recaro seats. Outside it has a little deck spoiler and slightly different body work.

Don't quote me on any of this, I'm only about 90% sure.

thats pretty much what i thougt anyway..

but i thought that all e30 6cyls came stock with LSD?
or was that just an option?

not all of them did, I believe it was only the IS. im not sure about that, so someone please correct me if im wrong. but i know mine (325) didnt come with one.

The LSD was an option on all cars except the 325is and the 325es. It was an option on the 325i and 325e.

i assume it did not come stock on the 323i either.. but was also an option them?

i was just told that all the 6cyl came with them.. i guess they were wrong..
