I just picked up a BMW 330CI, It was theft recovery and they stole the hood bumper, fenders ect.. the last owner replaced all the parts and it ran fine but the head was no good so they replaced the head and now it wont start, It hasnt been delivered yet so im just going by what they tell me but they think the computers need to be set now. Does anyone know how to get the car running or what could be causing this? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

sorry to hear of your troubles...but more information is needed. when you says doesnt start, is it making any noise, no noise, turning over then going off.....not sure what else to say but try your local BMW dealership. Good luck

was anything stripped? I know that the cpu, the headlight switch, the cluster, the speed sensor and the key all have milage memory stored and if any of these parts are changed or do not match everytime the key is put into the ignition the car locks itself and a dealer has to unlock, synchronize it, and reset to get it to work.

Yes, even the key saves milage, for example if the key shows that 26,000 was on the car last time you turned it off then, someone messes around with milage, cluster, etc.... and the next time is see the car showing 12,000 miles it will go into lock down.

Not saying you did anything, but when it was stolen if they tampered with anythng, removed any of these parts ect... the car could have shut itself down.
