330i pet peeves

I have an '04 330i. Really love driving it, and of course it's one of the best looking sedans on the road. But I do have a couple of pet peeves. First is the seat. I do not have the sport package, but I find the seat is hard and can get uncomfortable after awhile. Second, is why did they change the wheels? The spoke wheels they used up to the '03 were great looking, not that the current ones are ugly, but they are very similar to the ones on the 325i and not as sporty looking. Lets hear from other 330 owners out there.

I noticed the 325i's "hard seats" to hurt my back and left posterior after 45minutes of driving or more. My new 330i has soft seats (pp montana leather) and I haven't found them to bother my back. But the back seat in the 330i is stiffer and harder than that in the 325i, so I can imagine it being less comfortable for the passengers in the rear.

As for the wheels... I liked the look in pictures, but in person it doesn't seem fitting for the car.

Oh I also don't like how my 330i sneaks up to 100mph making life more difficult during the break-in period.[joke] I floored it once for a second and brought it to 5500rpm 3 other times in 700 miles I hope I didn't mess anything up....

Otherwise I'm happy with my 330i. [thumb]

Actually, Germans are known to have hard seats. Some harder than others. When my parents first test drove the ML320, they came back complaining that they felt like wooden church pews. And they were coming from an old S class that still had pretty firm seats.

My seats took a while to "break in." They are noticeably softer now. The driver's seat is quite a bit softer than the passenger's due to use. I'd still say it's pretty damn firm, but I don't have any complaints.

My only pet peeve is the amount of brake dust that accumulates in the wheels. I'm normally a neat freak, but have had to just suck it up and live with the less than lusterous look it gives my rims. It's worth it though -- this is one bad ass car! ;-) I've had it four months and am still in love.

Aren't there some other pads that you can get that would dust less, and still provide good braking without the squeal? If so what are they?

this happens on all BMW's, its crazy but if your gonna get a BMW this is something to look out for, cuz of this we wash our cars like every 2 weeks but the rims get cleaning from us every week

Brake dust is a huge pet peeve of mine too! Is there any product to use that helps the dust not stick. I know there are some products that help accumulate more dust, like accidently overspraying your tires with Armor all or similar product which really collects the dust and makes it stick.

I have sport pack and love my seats, wish there a bit deeper even more like the M seats

No I-Drive
I agree. I would love I-Drive in my car. Its awesome. If you take the time to learn it, it is the best thing since the auto bread slicer.

I have 2 more peeves. One, the brake dust. It is a necessary evil, but I hate it. Two, in the nav system, you can't directly enter a place in the search function (using the keyboard). You have to find it by category. This is stupid and a royal pain in the butt.

I have the say the break dust annoyed me so much it this past weekend I spend a 1hr alone on the wheels to get every bit of dirt off. Those style M135 look great but at a cost. I waxed 3 of 4 wheels to see if it will keep the wheels cleaner longer / easier to clean. Hmmm Telfon product, need to look into it.

Seriously though, I love it when my boss gets out of his ultra plush Denali and drops his butt in my car and the seats just about knock the wind out of him, the way a proper seat should be.

You got any pics of how you have the XM radio installed? Would love to see it.
