330iPP Controller Problems

I just bought my '04 330iPP home this past Monday. After 3.5 days and 265 miles, I turned on the car and there was a major computer glitch. My oil light, battery light, DSC, ABS, and Brake lights all came on, and my oil temp. shot to max. Although mechanically nothing seemed to be wrong, these lights never went out. Needless to say, I flatbedded it back to BMW where it has been for 2 days.

Aside from the fact I need therapy for 1) having the iPP and then having it be taken away, and 2) the frustration and anger for having just dropped 41K+ on the car and having such a major electrical glitch, I absolutely love this car and can't wait to have it back.

Any thoughts or similar problems with anybody else's E46?

Thanks,
J.A.F.

They are almost all rock solid. You encountered what electronic engineers call "infant mortality." If an electronic component is going to fail at all, it is extremely likely to fail in it's first few hours of operation. Electronic components that live through the break-in period will most likely be almost immortal.

So, my condolences for missing your ZHP -- mine has just turned 900 miles, and if I had to part with it now I'd weep like a baby. But you should feel fine about trusting the car after they get things fixed.

Thanks...

Thanks RoyE46- It's still in the shop for a new hydrolic pump now as well... I hopefully will get it back tomorrow. As of right now, it's been in the shop for as long as I've had it in my driveway! Good luck with yours.

I appreciate your sympathy, confidence and encouragement- really.
