4000 rpm hesitation

Hey guys...long time no type

I have noticed over the couple of months I have had my car

2003 330i 6sp sport package

that in 2nd or 3rd or 4th gear there is a momentary hesitation in the engines powerband
at roughly 4000rpm when I am gassing it...about 3/4 throttle.

I was not sure if this is by design...such as part of the variable valve timing system

or is this a problem I should look into further?

Has anyone else noticed this???

I have the same problem. The dealer said it was fuel quality that was causing this and a couple of other problems. I have just given up on this issue because the dealer said its just the way it is with these cars.

It could be worse, my neighbors new 7 series has died on the freeway 5 times in the first 1,000 miles and had to be towed back to town on one occasion the first day of a 3 day weekend.
