86 heated o2 relay

Does anyone have the relay location listing handy for the 86 325e.
I can't find even a relay list in the haynes manual nor the bmw operators manual.

Haynes manual is junk. Chiltons are junk. Buy nothing but a bently manual, it'll answer 99% of your questions.

It's one of the three relays in the auxiliary relay panel in front of the driver's side shock tower. I think it's the rear-most one.

still can't find it

The 86 has a fuse box on drivers side engine bay next to
firewall. There are around 8 relays in the middle of the
fuses. Does anyone have the relay map handy.

It isn't in that fusebox, so don't bother. Did you read my post above? There is a black box (sort of L-shaped) in front of the driver's side shock tower. Take the lid off of that, and you'll see three relays.

Yea I read your post, dont get your drawers in a wad

On the 86 there is no such black box in front of the drivers side
shock tower. I will look again but didn't see it the first time.
But then again I've been looking at the 91 318, 81 lancia beta and
then the sons 86 325 so I may be somewhat confused with what is

Yes, there should be a black box. The 318 has one too, but the relays inside are for different purposes than in 6 cylinder models.

Hey Justin, I owe you a beverage of your choice.
I'm not far from Winston-Salem and regularly make trips there
I found the black box and two of the relays in there smell burnt.
Looks like advance will be paid a visit.

We're working on the dreaded surging idle problem.
The 02 voltage readings were not correct at the plug which led
us back to the relay.
