95 318is starter problem?

Hello,

I have a 1995 318is, 5 speed with 240,000 km on it. When the car is driven for a while and I shut the engine off I can not start it again. It looks like the starter stops working as the engine does not turn over. If I let the car sit for a while (1 hr or so) it will start with no problems. The battery in my car is pretty new and I think its not the cause of the problem. Is there any other thing besides the starter motor that could be causing this problem, like a defective switch or something? Any help would be appreciated.

sounds liek the brushes are bad in the starter, i would say replace it, same thing as a crank sensor they get hot and the car will stop running as soon as it cools they work, or just go completely out. change your starter.
