Can I ask why you are asking? Are you spec'ing some aftermarket audio equip (like a 6-disc CD changer) that this applies to?

If it is a CD changer you are wondering about, the answer is no, no DSP. Some 5-series a few years back had a special DSP audio input on the amplifier that requires a different interface adapter for a CD changer.

If your question just asks if we have DSP in our system, the answer is yes. The little speaker button on your dash engages DSP to enhance the sound if desired.

Hope this helps.

No, the unit you want is Blitzsafe BMW/AUX DMX V.1 -- BMW 96-04 AUX Interface....if all you want to do is get the AUX input in your trunk. You do not have the DSP input. Trust me as I have the Blitzsafe BMW/ALP DMX V.1D -- BMW 96-04 to Alpine CD + AUX interface installed in mine along with the Alpine CHA-S634 6 disc changer.

I would recommend the one I have in case you ever want to add the Alpine MP3 changer in there later, or now. This one works with or without the CD changer attached. It connects to the 3 and 6 pin connectors bundled together in the trunk located in a wrapped harness nearest to the outside of the car. Your system will auto-detect it and you will hear any audio source (XM or otherwise) connected to the RCAs on the adapter through your HK.

Again DO NOT get the one with DSP connection, it doesn't apply to our cars.

I don't detect any noise on the lines with the blitzsafe (taht would be my CD changer and the aux input). Clear as a bell.

Were you thinking of like alternator noise like you sometimes get in aftermarket systems? I think BMW has isolated/cancelled any noise from the 6-pin to the speakers. The blitzsafe is flawless IMHO.

There is 12V switched available from the 3-pin power connector, but you would have to tap into it by cutting wires. I forget which wire is which, use your voltmeter to check which pin is +12 and which is ground.

There is also +12V switched available from the 3-pin bundled with the phone pre-wire. The 12V and ground are swapped from the 3-pin intended for the CD. The connectors are identical though.

Call blitzsafe tech support about the blitzsafe. The dude I talked to there knew everything about the adapter.
