ABS and Traction control lights keep coming on randomly

My traction control light and ABS light come on randomly while driving. I can't find any reason for it other than a sensor might be going out. The dealership can't pin point the problem, but they tell me it could possibly be a pedal travel sensor, does this sound familiar to anyone? I'd rather not pay the labor charges for them to do "exploritory surgery"

Has anything changed, like tires, rims etc? if not I am not sure other than a bad sensor, however I have never had this happen other than when I changed a tire size.

I'm with Dan. How old are the tires, are they worn evenly? Did you check inflation and make sure they are properly inflated? Pedal travel sensor? Ehhh, sounds like a stab in the dark....

I've had the same tires and rims on since I've had the car. I worked for a BMW dealership a few years ago and I've never heard of a pedal travel sensor, not to say it doesn't exist, but It does sound like a shot in the dark.
