After market rear wing, what do you all think?

I'm thinking of buying a rear wing for my 2003 330i.
I went through the factory dealer catalog and they wanted $499 for this wing, includes paint.
A friend of mine sent me to a web site where he has bought wings for cars at his body shop and I found this, looks to be an exact match with what the BMW dealer was selling, can get it painted for $179.

Think it will look OK on the car, should I stick with none, or possibly the little lip like on the proformance package. I'm totally undecided.

it is buy the wing and gettin git painted totalling to $179.00.
This does not include freight or installation.
Which freight will probubly be like $35 and instal is free.

UGH...Dude...it's not a lowered Civic...but hey...you've got to be comfortable living with it.

Lip spoilers are the only ones that fit Bimmers well. though the OWM is too small it's still better than the "bolt-on" wings. All of the larger ones break the car's lines.

This is a CSL-style lip in CF on a Sedan. It loooks insane in person, no kidding.

There is a guy in Houston that I saw the other day driving a 330CIC, silver, with this wing.......he had the top down, I followed him for awhile on the freeway, actually about 10 miles trying to figure out what did he have........and did I like it or not.......still not sure....kinda like over accessorizing the outfit............[???1]

I kinda like the lip too. I just think a wing is a bit much. Just my .02

I think those fins are pass their prime.

A subtle, functional lip is sleek. I'm still undecided on the ones that sit over the top of the rear window. Haven't see one of those yet in person...not sure how far they stick out and whether they have any actual function...or are just purely form.

But this look you have here...especially with those rear lights...just screams RICE.

The wife wanted a wing, I didn't. The dealer threw it in to make the deal....it looks fine. I don't agree with the "Ricey" part. If it was ricey it would be 3' in the air.

The lippy thing looks like deformed sheet metal to me[fake]

Doesn't "fit" - looks like an add-on versus an integrated part of the overall design of the car. At least to me.

Not a very good picture, but I love my spoiler. I don't think it's ricey at all, very sporty look though. Different strokes for different folks, do what you want and what you like. (This is a different spoiler than yours actually, mine doesn't extend pass the sides of the trunk lid or w/e.)

I like the lip spoiler, or no spoiler at all. the wing is just too big. and whoa, those taillights sure are hideous!!

No wing and no lip.

Me, I'm just a rear wing nut... pardon the pun... I love the look of the 3 Series with a rear spoiler, (the right rear spoiler), not something that could pass for a rumble seat or an extra appendage to a bulldozer. I personally have both a rear roof spoiler and a rear wing spoiler on my 2000 323i.

I'm not a fan of wings.

In addition to the added cost of installation, when it comes time
to sell, the buyer may not like the wing, so you could potentially
face a double hit of initial cost + lower resale.

The car is beautiful, leave the wings to airplanes.

Seriously though, I do like the M3 lip spoiler, it's the only one, with maybe the exception of the roof spoiler, that seems pleasing to my eye. I don't think I'll ever get either though, I'd rather get more performance out of it at this point.

I suspect if you do a good deal of tracking, having the correct spoiler over nothing probably does help in some instances. Any trackers here that can give us their thoughts?
