Aftermarket Head Unit Installation

I was wondering if anyone has had a problem installing an aftermarket radio in their E46 (Especially a TV deck or a oversized face). The kit that I have seems a little to small for the face plate. Has anyone modified the kit so the faceplate will fit?? Another problem is that the cage in wich the deck rests is back alot further than a conventional din style car. How did any of you get around that problem?? Any info would be great. [shake]

do you have any more info on the aftermarket unit that you have? (i prolly won't be able to help much, but i thought more info the better for those "in the know")
