Hello,
How many of you have purchased after market parts from places on Ebay? I am looking at some clear corner lights and they seem to be too cheap, IE front corners for 15.00? Most come without instructions and probably bulbs?

At the local dealer they are over $200.00 USD. What am I missing?

Current wisdom would say check after market places via the boards.

Any thoughts or what experience does any one have?

thanks

Rich

Mostly you can believe the adage, "you get what you pay for". I bought some clear sidemarker lights off of eBay and compared them with genuine BMW clear sidemarkers. The eBay ones were cheaply made and the lens were not as polished as the BMW's. I would agree, check Bav Auto, and other parts suppliers where I would compare price and quality. Check with some of our advertisers on this site.

one more tip, if you are goign to buy something, but from someone with a high rating, nothing below 10 would be my advice, recently bought some concert tickets from someone who had a rating of 2, and maybe it was just a bad experience, but she had never sold anything before, and we could not get in contact, caller her once and then she would not answer her phone, and when i caller her she was unaware that i had even won the auction (2 days after auction close) and admitted she hadn't checked her e-mail...so, my advice, buy from someone who is a power seller or someone who has a high rating...like Jimmy540i [:p]

this applies more for computers but even w/ someone w/ high rating, check the feedback to see their selling pattern. if a guy racked up 100+ positives selling clocks, and all of a sudden starts selling cheap top of the line laptops? i would stay away. (phished accounts run rampant on ebay and deals too good to be true usually are, even on ebay.

I bought the aftermarket lenses and they didn't fit plus the lack of quality was obvious. Returned them and bought genuine BMW and they fit perfectly.

bought my true-white bulbs for the driving lamps to match the xenons ($19) and cold air intake tube with filter ($49) and both are awesome. Bought OEM spoiler from website, $200, painted to match car. Make smart choices on what you can afford to lose. $50 vs. $200.

good luck.
