Air bag question

I have a 330i (2001) with side air bags in the door, air bag in the steering wheel, and air bag area by the front windshield. Does the side air bag or the air bag by the front windshield protect the head area of the occupants in a side impact collision (the drivers or passanges side window)?
Is there anywhere you know of where I can get an illustration of what reas the air bags protect?

Thanks!

The bags in the pillars up alongside the windshield are referred to as HPS or Head Protection System. They are the ones that protect the heads of the FRONT passengers. They are longer than they are wide kinda like a balloon animal balloon.

There is a good picture in my 330Ci sales literature. I would imagine you could go to your dealer and see the same picture in any BMW sales literature.
