[?|]Hello All,

I need your help with a problem. I have a 2003 330i with 40k miles. I just heard from my mechanic that the evaporator is probably broken on my AC system and it's going to cost $1900 to replace. I know the car is out of warranty but this seems insane for a 5 year old car. I just replaced the alternator a month ago so that's 2 major repairs. I'm already going to dump more into this car then I did in my 2001 Audi A4. I expected better (not perfect) reliability from BMW. Do I have any recourse with BMW? I bought it used so I don't have a good relationship with my dealer. Is there a customer contact number with BMWUSA I can plead my case with??

Air Conditioning resolution

Well, I took my car in to Classic BMW in Plano, TXand it turns out the evaporator coil and expansion valve were leaking. And here's the crazy part. They ended up repairing everything and covering it under goodwill adjustment even though my warranty has expired. I'm guessing it's due to my low mileage and the fact that this part shouldn't have gone out this early. Needless to say, I was pleasantly suprised. I figured they'd just reduce the repair bill x%. They definitely have created a happy customer.
