Hello, newbie here, first time to post although I have been reading here for several months. Anyway, I have a 2000 323I manual, that the air conditioning fan motor seems possessed. When I start the car, the fan will blow slow and then speed up to maximum all by itself. This happens in both the manual and auto modes, but in the auto mode the fan remains at maximum even though the correct temperature has been reached in the car. Anybody have a similar problem and know what kind of $$'s we are talking about here to repair? Thanks for the help!

[thumb] I've got the same bimmer and have had the same problem my friend. My Electric Fan Assembly went tango uniform. I believe the part cost approximately 150.00 and my labor cost was 75.00 for a grand total of 225.00. Yes my friend your Fan Assembly is dying the slow death of wear and tear. Mine lasted over 140,000 miles. Just my two and a half cents worth. Happy Motoring...
