Hi everyone I just picked up a new E-46 2004 325i with premium package. After 1 day I was stunned to find no alarm system? Bright guy aren't I? The salesman told me the "clown eye" was the alarm becon and my girlfriends lowly Dodge Stratus came standard with a good alrm soooo I never gave it another thought! Anyway reading the forums I have gone and checkede for the motion detector in the ceiling and there is a roughly 3" x 3" black box there so I assume i have at least part of the alarm. Does anyone have a clue as to how I might be able to activate it if there is one without going to the dealer? I also looked for the white box b the battery but my car has moved the battery inside the car and there is just a big empty hole there! Any help would be great!! Also are there any new answers as to the question on the bluetooth question? If I have a Verizon phone can I use it hands free??

Thanks all!!

Congrats on your new Bimmer :) You have to purchase the alarm from the dealer. I paid $189.00 for the alarm, the service advisor showed me how to hook it up (took about 1 hour and lots of patience and some nerve)...then you have to take it back to the dealer and have it activated. Our 2004s are pre-wired for the alarm, but once they are installed, only the dealer can activate it and set your desired settings. I paid $105.00 to activate it. All in all a lot cheaper that the $800.00 they wanted when we were doing financing!!! Good Luck and Congrats again!!!

If you install the alarm, you will have to install the motion detector as well. It is not very difficult to install the entire system. When you buy the alarm, it will come with all of the instructions, just follow them and you will be ok. When you are finished installing, try to activate it with your key, you may find that it is not necessary to have the dealer program it, as others on this board have found out. Good luck and if you have problems installing, just ask this board, someone will have the knowledge to help you.
