On the bmwusa website they have a whole page dedicated to the 3 series and it's evolution with stats on everything from the 2002 up. Accordingly the new 3 series has 255hp and can accelerate to 60mph from a standstill with a manual transmission in 6.1 seconds. The 6.3 figure is probably with an automatic and the e90 is actually heavier than the current 3 series as it weighs over 3400lbs, too bad it is limited to 130mph. They even have granturismo 4 footage of the car, I never heard of any car company catering to enthusiasts like this. [bmwkick] [bmwdance] [driving2] [burnout]

I think they realized they had better nail the new 3 series release, or else there was going to be hell to pay from the 3 series enthuesists! [;)]

I'm loving it, and will be shopping for one the 2nd year it's out. (lol)

No they won't. The enthusiasts aren't listened to by BMW. If they were, they would still be building cars with the whole "function over form" mindset. That all went away after the E34.

I like the looks of it... and I appreciate the improved performance/features. My goal is to get the 06/07 M3 with a V8 (I think??) and 6 speed (standard).

If they offer it in a standard. Not saying they won't, but the way BMW is going who knows. I wouldn't be surprised if they offer it only SMG II/III. I am just speculating on my part. I would assume as long as they build M's they are going to have standard (3-pedal) gearbox's. I am just saying I wouldn't be a least bit surprised if they didn't.
