Alpine adapter for ipod

Anybody hear of the adapter Alpine is coming out with (apparently in sept) so you can hook up your ipod to your Alpine head unit. I was gonna keep my factory head unit, but if they are coming out with this, I think i'll def. buy an Alpine HU. It says it can fit anywhere from underneath a seat to in your trunk, and it is a direct connection...no static filled radio solutions here. At about $100 it seems to be a good deal. Sounds like a good solution for those of us with pre 2002 bimmers that want a good ipod connection.

I'm counting the days! I checked this out online at Alpine's website, and also talked to the guys at Tweeter about it (they don't have it yet, but they know all about it and can't wait to get their greedy little hands on 'em.) It looks to me to be by far the best ipod solution for anyone that doesn't mind changing their HU. This device gives total access to the ipod through the HU, including HU control of ipod functions and displays of tracks and titles. It even charges your ipod while it's hooked up. Best of all the sound quality should be as good or better than a cd.
