anyone know where i can find a ballast for the angel eyes? i got some damage to the left angel eyes when the antifreeze leaked out and some of it went into the headlight area. the guy I bought it from says I may just need to replace that part. Where can I find this part w/o having to buy the entire kit?

There are ballasts for angel eyes? Do you have HID's? He is probably talking about the ballast for the HID's. Its a nice small box behin your headlights connected to a wire to your bulbs.

I dont know how you maryland folk do it, but over here in Cali we try and not put antifreeze in out headlights :)

From your description, it's not clear if you have Xenons or Angel Eyes.

If you have Angel Eyes (Glowing Rings around the headlights):
Most Angel Eye Kits have a Light Box that feeds the fiber optic strands for Angel Eyes. It's not a high voltage ballast like Xenons, but the concept is similar.

As far as I know, the E46 never came with factory angel eyes, therefore, you must contact the company that made YOUR Angel Eye add-on kit, it's highly unlikely that they are interchangeable between the various aftermarket kits.

In Pennsylvania we don't put antifreeze in our headlights either, but we do refill our Blinker Fluid as needed. ; )

Dos your car also have Hi-Intensity Discharge headlights? The ones that give out a large quantity of light over the standard lights ont he car and the lights flicker on when you turn them on and they are a tint between yellow/white and blue.

That sounds about right (HIDs I guess)! They flicker on as if awakening from sleep! The angel eyes switch is in the ashtray!

The ballasts are for your HID's. He said to replace those? That doesnt make sense if your HID's are working properly.

So which angel eyes dont work anymore? A picture of the wiring behidn the headlights to the angel eyes would help greatly.
