Another Brake/Steering Question

Recently, I've noticed that while braking hard at high speeds, say 65+, my steering wheel shimmies a lot. It's not especially violent, but it's disconcerting nonetheless; the column doesn't shake, but the steering wheels jerks up and down. I live in the city now, and do not drive the car as frequently as I used to--I get around by taxi and train mostly. I drive for about 3-5 miles, sometimes less, about every 3 or 4 days, and maybe a couple times on the weekends when going out, and that's about it. One of my friends said I might be building up flat spots on my tires? I told him that I thought I drive too frequently for that. But even after driving for a little while, this still happens, though like I said, it usually only during speeds of 65+, and more usually around 70-80.

I'm puzzled. [screwy] Any thoughts? I recently changed my brakes, so I'm wondering if maybe my dad or I did something??

So you recently changed the brakes? Just the pads or the rotors too? Typically a shimmy in the steering wheel on light braking at high speeds means a warped rotor/disc. It would be less noticeable at slower speeds.
