Well, I have discovered a new power window option on my car. When taking corners at a swift but reasonable speed, my back right window now opens by itself. [???1] That’s right, it just rolls all of the way down with no help at all. I discovered this on an off ramp while going at a good pace but definitely not unreasonable or unsafe for the traffic. Halfway through, presto, to window just rolls down! All right, I just have to laugh but at the same time I am pissed. What next! [???1] The car has 2,000 miles on it. Was able to duplicate once on my way home.

I don't know, Bryan...

I might have to look into that '04 'Vette Coupe again...

I have no idea what is going on. I like the car but I am becoming disappointed with it due to the problems I am having. I have no idea what would cause this, I guess it could be a short, bare wire somewhere, who knows. I hope there is one central problem that will be found and it fixes the problems I am having. I don't even know what to say about choice of cars, I would hate to ever tell anyone to buy a 330i and then have them run into these problems. There is no question the cars have some electrical problems, BMW just need to get them fixed.[wave]

Bryan, perhaps it is an accident safety feature? Meaning your car is mistakenly detecting an accident and opens up the window for access as a safety feature. My dad's Benz E430 did something similar for a little while....whenever you took a turn moderately hard, the interior dome lights would all turn on. He took it to the dealership and they fixed it, though. Your problem is similar to the one he experienced.

I think you may be right. It looks like that is the problem. Now they just need to determine how to fix it.

I read in the brochure in multiple places that the safety feature you are speaking of does this on a severe impact: disconnects the starter from the battery, hooks a lengthwise bar in the door for rigidity. Then after a time, unlocks all the doors, turns on the interior lights, turns on the hazards and unhooks the door bar.

Nowhere does it mention anything about the windows.

No telling though. What a weird quirk you are seeing. Bizarre.
