My old muffler rusted out, time for a new one. Needed something cheap for now and decided on Ansa.

Got it in the mail, first impression was cheap. I guess you dont get much for $190. It was all dented up and scratched... oh well, its a muffler.

The weight difference was 10 pounds less than stock but looked like a size increase. Ended up getting an installation kit, including new muffler straps, the three rubber things, nuts bolts, and coupler rings.

Getting those rubber things on was a serious b!tch. Mind you, mount the mufler straps, THEN mount the muffler to them. Not to mention i think i got it wrong and have to do it all over again ..... but i cant recall (car is 600 miles/>2 weeks away).

I turn the key and i heard the same damn thing i did with a stock. heck i thought my rusted out muffler with holes sounded better. Then again, i hadnt heard it in 6 weeks at that time, so it could have been a little louder at top end.

As for free flow? at the time, i had just finished putting in the new 5 speed so the thing i felt was the simulated rear differential upgrade, as the auto has a 4.10 which is considered an upgrade to manual.
BUT, when i get on it, and this can best be felt in 3rd, at 5k rpm you can feel the cams do their job. Really cool feeling, so i think that is a resultant of the muffler. Again, this is without my chip knowing about the muffler, but i dont think this would be that important.

Nothing to wow your friend nor foe with a german sound, but all-in-all, an economical performance purchase.
