The black strips that run top to bottom at the rear of the driver and passenger windows are starting to discolor a little. I assume this is caused by grabbing that strip to close the door when exiting the car. It doesn't look terrible but I assume it will get worse if I don't do something.

Any ideas about what to use to fix the problem? Wax, rubbing compound?

Thanks, David

Are you talking about the plastic? No to wax or rubbing compound. I'd put a plastic/rubber trim cleaner on there. Meguires makes a spray. BMW use to make a gummifledge.

Or are you talking about a painted piece of painted plastic, like the bumpers? Then yeah, i'd treat it the same as the body of the car.
