I just put down the deposit on a 2005 325i with 44K on it. If I couldn't get the price I was aiming for this car, I was going to drive into a Toyota dealership and get a new Camry V6 for $22K, well same price anyway. Well I will get the BMW on Tuesday and I now have a funny feeling (kind of sourish..) about the repair costs after I read through some of the threads in this forum.

Please advise me whether should I get an extended warranty or not? I appreciate very very much if you also recommend some name as there are hundreds of companies and it is overwhelmingly confusing. I will visit the BMW dealership first thing this week for a complete inspection and brake service (it is covered under factory warranty right?)

Thanks!

An extended warranty, is in my personal opinion, a VERY good idea. Sometimes, one repair, can pay for what the ext. warranty cost.

Both my mom and my aunt bought the ext. warranties for their pre-owned BMW and MBZ, and for many years the ext. warranty paid for themselves at least 2-3 times.

Good Luck!!

If you decide the exteded warranty is too much then at least look into the maintenance warranty, that also extends out to 100k miles and covers all your inspection services, brakes, oil changes, fluid flushes e.t.c. Not sure if all BMW dealership offer this though...
