Never seen one around here. I'd know about it if it were in Tennessee. The only one i know of in the US is in North Carolina. I think they only make the X5 there, though. I could be wrong. I believe everything else comes straight from Deutschland.

[confused]

I think I remember reading that the current 325 models are made in south africa...and that all 330 models are made in germany....this is in a small way part of why I wanted the 330

so I can get real german engineering....

a number of years ago I had a VW jetta that was breaking down...and curiously I found out it was made in mexico...I'm sure any country can make great cars...but some are more obsessive about quality.

justdrive ... thats an ignorant statement ...

its not like there are a bunch of crack addicts designing the 325's and german rocket scientists making the 330's ... all the cars bmw produce are great quality

I saw 325s at the factory delivery center when I picked up my 330cic in Munich, so I think the 325 is also made in Germany.

Since South Africa was a British colony, don't they drive on the 'wrong' side of the road there too? MAYBE that is the factory where BMW builds the right hand drive 3 series......?

yo mallards

yo mallards...now you can be angry if ya want...but I still think what I said was fair. I think many things factor into automobile quality. One certainly is the blue print of design for the car. But, another is the people involved with actually building your car. Their culture, level of education and work ethic will be different from one country to another.

so it is impossible to say these countries are equal...it may be fair to call their differences neglible...but it does not make sense to call me ignorant for being aware of such differences.

for example toyotas built in japan have slightly better reliability than U.S. toyota vehicles....is it a major difference...no. But, when I buy my car I want the slightly better vehicle...its just practical

if ya want to be angry defending political correctness...thats fine.
But some non-politically correct statements have some truth to them.

"so I can get real german engineering...." [confused] thats the statement i was going after

i dont want this to turn into a post war or anything ... but cocky statements like that give people that drive bmws a bad name ... you know ... when you start saying that a certain car is "real" simply because it was produced in a certain country

and who do i call to get my money back? i think i paid for a fake bmw =)

howdy

yo mallards

my apologee for not understanding...
as far as BMW standing behind its products and demanding high standards...I agree that it should not matter where one buys their car
