Since I just had this done I can tell you that yes... the iPod connector in your glove box is for the newer iPods. Lucky for you that the connector is already installed because I just had this done on my car and the connector plus installation ran just over $350. An iPod mini that holds appx. 1,000 songs costs about half as much as that so if you want to upgrade your iPod your car will be all set to accept it.
By the way... the iPod hooked up in this way works great! Its way better than having a CD changer.
Oh man, that sucks big time. I'm feelin you man. I would be hard pressed to keep my cool. My kids have spilled a little milk spash here or there, but coffee, OUCH!!!
yea you'll need a g3 ipod or higher. third gen is the one with four clear touch buttons on top, and touch wheel. 4th gen is the clickwheel ipod. fyi ^^
I have an 2001 325xit also Orient Blue but with tan interior. I've had it since January and love it. I also like the color and as a father of three (yes we also have a minivan) the added cargo space of the wagon is a bonus. Good Luck.
