Auto head light indicator???

Hello, and Happy New year to all...

All you E46'ers: When you use your headlights in 'auto mode', does a little green indicator to the top left of the headlight dial come on when the lights activate???

The reason I ask: My 04 325 sedan is in the shop, and I noticed my 0? 325 coupe loaner has the green led. Mine doesn't! I'm pretty sure my car has the hole where the green light would be, but NO green light indicating the auto lights have turned on...

Is this a new feature on the 05's, a couple feature, or does my car have itty bitty green light malfunction?

Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure, but it might have something to do with the fact that coupes and convertibles (2004 and newer) have adaptive Xenon lights (the lights move when you move the steering wheel...if you haven't used or seen it....It is probably one of the best BMW features EVER). So maybe the green light has something to do with the Adaptive lights, which your loaner coupe would have, and your own car doesn't. Hope this helps, and is correct :)

My car is a 2004 330 convertible and it has the light. I leave my light switch in the "A" position (for auto) and the lights switch on by themselves (and the little green indicator is illuminated). This isn't limited to 2005 cars. Of course, I have the adaptive Xenons, so this could be why.

Just found out from my SA, its a new feature for 05's...
Your SA is wrong. Along with the "facelift" the 2004 3er coupe and cabrio got, LED taillights and Adaptive Xenons also came. No changes really for 2005, since the nail is in the coffin for the E46. Hats off, and flag at half mast :-(

I have a '04 coupe with the adaptive headlights. The green light will only be on when the car senses it's dark enough outside to turn on the headlights. Otherwise, the green light will not be on.

Maybe its a new feature for the 05 sedan.

All the responses have been for coupes and converts (also a coupe).

Does anyone have an '04 (or less) sedan with the auto headlight feature?
