Auto to Manual trany

Is it possible to change an automatic transition to a manual in a 03 325i. and if so how much would this be for an entry level clutch...

Yes it is possible but your talking needing the clutch pedal assembly under the dash, all the componets under the car, a hole in the firewall, etc and maybe some electronics.

I was told they haven't come out with E46 convertion kits yet. They must have a glut of factory refurbished autos!

It could be done but you'd be spending a LOT more money, vs just selling it and getting a manual of the same year/make, honestly.

There 'are' paddle kits you can get for steptronics - it add's 'SMG' paddles to your car so you can shift up top. It's not SMG by far, but gives you a little more 'control' of the shifting I suppose. A few local guys here have done the kit, and they give it in their opinions.

This gets asked often. It's not worth the money and hassle. Far cheaper and easier to just trade your car in and get a manual version.

trade trade trade, you would a lot of $$$$$ on a conversion. Much easier to just trade your car in and get one that has a manual.
