This is the sound my car makes when I start it after it sits for a bit. Colgged fuel filter? Sounds kinda like a squirrel getting hit by a lawnmower. BBVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET

first off, check for squirrels, they could have gottin into the intake, but otherwise it might be one of the fuel pumps, mine sounds somewhat like "that" but after its been running for a while.

could it be your stereo? sometimes, when a filter goes bad, the alternator causes some weird sound to come out the speakers. dumb question, but it just hit me and i wanted to ask it.

Im 95% sure its under the hood somewhere, it only happens now and again so i cant stick my head down there or anything to hear where its coming from

maybe just a belt that doe not have enough tension. than they sometimes start squeeking awefully.

i've heard this noise recently in my 525i everytime i start it after long periods of time..... it sounds like a REALLY loud whistling noise, like a BLAST of WIND or something of that nature, i dont think it has an affect on the car cuz it runs fine but that noise is very troublesome. [???1]
