I my opinion I think that UUC Twin Silencer Exhaust has the best sound. Also Superspint or Einsserman Exhaust and many more that are also good (cant remember ryte now). Someone please help me out here!!!

Im going to get the UUC TSE in about 3 months or so (need to save money, I'm running a college budget here.)

I have better than just a sound clip you have video also.

Hope this helps!!!

I have a convertible and I was really concerned about an exhaust that was too loud, at the same time I didn't want an exhaust that was silent but weak. After a substantial amount of research, I settled on AA Tuning and I must say that it is the absolute best decision I could have made. It has a nice deep hum, but not loud like those bazooka exhausts that you see on every civic in the country. Anyone who has ridden in my car recognizes and comments on the hum of the exhaust before anything else. I'm sure the rest of the exhausts are great. But, I can say from experience that I am really happy.

What kind of car do you have and what's your tolerance for noise?

If you have an M3 I'd go with an AA exhaust. Pretty loud.. but not annoying.... it's got a higher pitched whine.. as many have stated before, "Ferarri sounding" exhaust.. and I agree with the analogy...

If you want loud and pretty... go with B&B triflo.. doesn't get much louder than that.. it's possible.. and the nice rolled chrome tips are nice..

Personally, I have a supersprint exhaust. If you don't have an e36 M3 I would go with supersprint because they're practicailly the only company that makes model specific exhausts.. pretty much all other companis just tune an exhaust for the M3.. but they just happen to fit regular 3'ers.. so they sell them for 3'ers also...

.the supersprint is loud enough to set car alarms off... it's a very subtle exhaust.. only noticeable when you step on it or when it's hot (when it's hot I get a bit of droning, but nowhere near B&B droning)...it definitely is one of the deepest sounding exhausts, although one of the quietest.. if that makse any sense... But so far, everyone in the AZ dtm/bf.c crew as liked it.. they all say it sounds great.. subtle and very deep...

of course, if you have an e46 you're on your own... i only research e36 parts cause that's what I go... :) GOod luck.

Price ranges from cheap(er) $250 to expensive $800..

If you guys are a little more descriptive about what you're looking for in an exhaust that would be more helpful in helping us help you (did I lose anyone there? :D )

type of car, e36/e46.. M series or non M..
loudness?
sound?
looks?
performance?
Price range?

Answer these 6 things and we should be able to come up with some kind of recommendation..

I recommend the Supersprint exhaust for all non-M3 e36 cars. Just make sure to get the 325/328 exhaust. The tips are rolled chrome with supersprint logo engraved. It's got a deep hum that isn't very loud. One of the quietest performance exhausts, only loud below 2500-3000, a bit of droning, especially when the exhaust is hot.. sets off car alarms easily in that state.. or it's loud when you go WOT. In my opinion, the best looking tips. If the picture came out clearly I'd post it, but compared to a soda can, the SS tip diameter is about 0.5 inches larger.. and It's the exhaust I've got. $500-$550 shipped for a good price. Check supporting bmw forum vendors for those prices, otherwise it'll be $550-$600 + shipping

My second recommendation would be the Active Autoworks exhaust. It's one step up in terms of loudness next to the SS exhaust. It sounds great, although not as deep as the SS. It's got a higher pitched Ferarri sounding note. But I do like the way this one sounds though! Only problem with this one, like many other performance exhausts, is that there's only an M3 version that fits non-M3's. THe problem with that is that the tips stick out a little further because the M3's rear sticks out further. THe second problem is that the piping for the M3 exhausts are larger, so you will lose a little power on the low end. $600-$650 shipped, pretty much anywhere.

As for that test posted above, keep in mind that's for an e36 M3. Numbers for a non m3 e36 will be different with the AA exhaust. Actually, I bought my exhaust from those guys and they recommended the SS for my 328is over the AA because the AA #'s would be lower since it's designed for an M3, but SS has exhausts for all BMW applications...

If it is just sound you want, get a tunable Borla muffler. Not going to get much from a stock BMW from a catback...and they are not cheap for a full catback system. Heck.....500-600 bucks for sound is kinda expensive to me. But if you got the money and want the sound....you have to pay. If you want tips, you can get some good stainless....MAKE SURE.....STAINLESS STEEL POLISHED....not chrome plated. Chrome plated rusts. These cars are not cheap to modify and to get decent gains....costs a bit. Just my 2 cents. Hoping this will not bens alot of people out of shape....but a CAI and exhaust on a E36 is really not worth the money in my opinion. Again....just my opinion.[;)]
