Bleed Brakes

OK, just replaced front and rear brakes on my 01 330 Ci. Had some pedal play before changing and it's still there afterwards. Has anyone had to bleed brakes to reduce pedal play. My mechanic says it happens sometimes and bleeding the brakes will improve pedal play. No leaks in the brake system. Thanks.

When you say pedal play do you mean a mushy feeling when braking, or do you mean that the pedal has a lot of free travel before it even starts to apply the brakes?

Mushy. Seems to require more force to stop the vehicle.

sounds like a bad master cylnder

First step would be to bleed the brakes.
