Bluetooth phone retrofit kits

I was reading the piece on Autospies about the availability (for both European and US cars) of bluetooth phone retrofit kits - list of part numbers in the article at http://www.imakenews.com/autospies/e_article000134615.cfm

...and was wondering if anybody knew the answer to these questions:

Only two phone adaptors are mentioned - for the Nokia 6310 and for the Sony Ericsson T39 and they are both GSM phones. I'm wondering if that means that other phones don't need adapters or that these are the only phones that are supported (seems unlikely). As part of that, I'm wondering if CDMA phones are NOT supported.

If the pricing of around $550 for the retrofit kit is correct, I might finally be able to have a sensible conversation with my wallet about having a phone integrated with my car electronics - the $2000+ solution with the ancient Motorola phone doesn't come close to a sensible conversation :)

In the meantime, I'll keep with the headset solution.
