Just picked up my 2005 325I on Tues., loving it. I was hoping that it would have Bluetooth capabilities due to the fact that the steering wheel has the features on it. When I took my v551 cell phone and tried to connect, no go. I went to the service dept., and they tried, no go. They then checked the production date on my car which was 8/04. It was explained to me that they started the Bluetooth on the 9/04 production; just my luck. Still got my BIMMER though. Anyway, with all that being said, what would I need/require to have Bluetooth capabilities in my vehicle. Thanks!

Funny, I thought they started installing BT around March 2004. My 2004 330 had a BT antenna and combo assist / BT module when I swapped it out for a BT only module. I thought any 3 series 05 would have BT.

Does your owners manual packet have a BT card with a 4 digit passcode??? If it does, then you probably have a BT module; if not..... If it does, other posts have said the car goes into pairing mode when you start up; put your phone in BT search mode and start and see if the radio display indicates a find.

The price for a BT module and install is probably several hundred $$, but it's great.

Yes, the car came with a Bluetooth Pass key card, so what would I need to get the Bluetooth up and running? I tried the pairing thing and it didn't work.

Just got off the phone with the service dept., and he said that if the vehicle has a Pass Key, it should work. Maybe I am pairing it wrong? [paranoid] Any and all advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
Also, my vehicle does not have a current subscription to BMW assist, could this affect anything?
