I was told at the dealer that I had Bluetooth preinstalled on my car(2005 325i). All I needed to get was a bluetooth phone. Well I got the V710 and nothing. I can press the R/T button and it says activate phone...but it wont find anything on the phone. I hav ebeen looking everywhere for the manual on this but no luck. Does anyone know how to prgoram the phone to work? I have the SOS system as well in case that means anything. Thanks

Make Sure Verizon programs the phone with the (V710ws8700_01.40R) software, then, when the car says to activate the phone go through the phone menues, other settings, connections, blue tooth, look for devises. The phone finds the car and asks you for the pass key ( provided with your car ). Enter it, you are ready to go. Keep it going for a while to give the car a chance to download the phone book from your phone. Enjoy.

Yes, be patient while the car is recognizing the phone and downloading the phonebook. It actually took my car 3 or 4 times before it took, and almost 30 mins for the phonebook to load. Don't turn the key off prematurely...let it run it's course.

The bluetooth system in my 05 M3 is amazing. The handsfree is clear, loud and in general the system functions flawlessly. Very, very satisfied with Bluetooth and epsecially the M [;)]

I found a MIN number and I called it but it goes to a Verizon Phone. I heard that some people can call their car...I wish I could do that. I think I need to upgrade the phone tomorrow to get it to work:) Thanks

I have the V710 and 2005 330Ci and my phone book (250 entries) loads in seconds. Make sure you have the "passkey code" for your car and enter into the BT menu when the car finds the device. Definitely make sure you have the latest software in the phone.

My only problem is switching from the car system to a call that I want to take private. I scroll through the BT menu and turn off the power for BT at the car reconnects immediately. The only way it works is if I turn the car off and then the BT power, otherwise I would walk away and the conversation is left in the vehicle. Anybody have the same problem?

I got it working. I found out the phone has to connet the first 2 min after the car is on or it will reset. So Im going back into the car to try it again but can I make calls from the phone book without using the phone? I assume since it loads the numbers in the car I should be able to do that...any ideas? Thanks

I don't know if I am understanding what you are saying. This is what I know it does. When you get in your car the phonebook from your phone loads into the car every time you get in (the car allows you upto 4 phones). The car has its own phone book that you must enter verbally. The car also has its own phone if you have ASSIST but you can't use that. The phonebook from your phone that is loaded into the car can be used, but no voice commands, only manually from the screen. If the phone is not in the car the phonebook is not loaded and you cannot use it. The vebally entered car phonebook is still ther but cannot be utilized because there is no phone. I hope this is clear.

The " Use handset" feature in the phone's menu is used to just disconnect from the car when you've arrived at your destination, after you've turned the ingition off so you CAN walk away from the car. In order for you to have a private conversation without reconnecting back to the car, unfortunately, you'll have to go deeper in the menu to other settings>connections>blue tooth power, and turn it off there. Hope it helps.

Understood about the "Use handset" works fine, thanks. The only issue remaining is the BT power. I cannot get to the bluetooth menu when the phone is being used. I have reorganized the menu and it is on my left soft key when I am not making a call. I agree that this is probably the only way, but The phone is not letting me do this. Any thoughts?
